Make a Holiday Button Wreath Picture
by heather

I found this cute button wreath on Better Homes & Gardens' website and it is a great dollar store craft! Everyone has a stash of buttons (don't they??). With the addition of some pretty fabric and a dollar store frame, you can make a holiday work of art suitable for decorating your home or giving as a gift. If you used small frames to make some of these, they would be great cubicle decorations (read: great gifts for coworkers). This would even be a great activity for kids. Make one for each grandma, aunt, and teacher!
Project Estimate:
- Frame, $1
- Fabric, on hand
- Buttons, on hand
- Ribbon, $1
Total Cost: $2
To make, remove cardboard insert from frame, or cut a cardboard piece of paper to fit inside your frame. Glue a piece of fabric to cardboard, then arrange buttons in wreath shape (or whatever shape you desire) and glue onto fabric. Top off with a ribbon bow. Insert into frame.

Another idea I might steal. I have a bag of gold buttons looking for a home and could use a grandparent gift.
I love this idea! I came across as a “related” post at the bottom of the “terrarium picture frame” by Jennifer Perkins. I have been beating my head against a wall trying to figure out different unique ways to make butterfly art for my sitting room. I think this is perfect, just change the wreath to a butterfly, waaaalaaa! Thank you so much for the inspiration.

I am not that crafty but I made the button wreath and it turned out great! I even have it hanging in my livingroom. I love it.
