Alexa, aka Swelldesigner, posted these quick and simple flashy costume jewelry projects, and gives tips on where to get supplies as well. You can make awesome jewelry for all the people on your holiday gift list with a few supplies and a keen eye for unique goodies to use for jewelry-making. Alexa advocates the purchase of a few jewelry-making basic supplies, and assures us that they're a great investment. I concur!

Project Estimate:

  • Jewelry-making pliers, $1
  • Earring wires, $2 for a big pack
  • Ring blank, $4
  • Assorted buttons and other flashy stuff, $1 and up
  • Glue (like E6000), on hand, or comparable stuff at DS for $1

Total cost: $8 for supplies, but make a bunch of jewelry with them
