A near-instant tote gratification project from My Spare Time: make a tote bag from a dollar store tea towel!

I don't know about you, but I have a collection of reusable tote bags that I use for everything. From hauling the goods back from the grocery store, going to the library, bringing a knitting project along in the car with me, or carrying diapers and an extra change of clothes for my kiddos, tote bags are the quiet workhorses of my household. I am addicted to them! This dollar store craft is a quick way to make a pretty tote! I am always eyeing the tea towel section at the dollar store, and now I have one more great project to add to my must-do list!

Project Estimate:

  • Tea towel, $1
  • Extra fabric or towel for straps, $1 or on hand
  • Interfacing (less than 1/4 yard), $1

Total cost: $2 and up
