Make a Spring Tree

This cute tree decoration idea was posted over at Craft Jr. It's such a simple decoration, but so pretty and you can customize it to fit your own decor. My sister has decorated tree branches with old costume jewelry and it's quite striking. You can use this idea for your own decor, for an office cubicle (wouldn't that cheer your dreary workday up?), or let kids make one for their own rooms. I particularly like the use of the dollar store fake birds! The tree also features my favorite wooden beads.

Project Estimate:

  • Toilet paper roll, on hand
  • Origami or wrapping paper, on hand
  • Green tissue paper, on hand or $1
  • Sticks from your yard, on hand
  • Curling ribbon, on hand
  • Wooden beads, $1
  • Fake feather birds, 2 for $1
  • Feather butterfly, 3 for $1
  • Glue, on hand
  • Wire cutters, on hand

Total cost: $3 and up

Oh wow! I love that idea! I bought some of those birds at Christmas – not because I had a use for them but because I hearted them! Now I can get them out of the drawer!
