Larissa at mmmcrafts shared her method for covering those cheap, narrow plastic headbands with pretty fabric to make a more fashionable headband (that also stays on!). Get instructions at her blog and download the free pattern. [via One Crafty Place]

You can use a dishtowel or placemat from the dollar store if you are hard up for cool fabric! :)

Project Estimate:

  • Headband, $1 (or a bunch for a buck)
  • Scrap fabric, on hand
  • Sewing stuff, on hand

Total: $1
