Make a Paperclip Ring

Flower RingKerri from cute.little.disaster recently embarked on a project to create rings out of 60 different materials. Her first project uses colored paperclips to make a rose-inspired ring. The project is for a Materials Exploration class she's taking, and I LOVE the concept of making one item out of 60 different materials. Sounds stretching, fun, and possibly frustrating but ultimately fulfilling. [click here for project instructions]

You can find colored paperclips at the dollar store, and you'll be able to make at least ten rings from one box of paperclips. If you don't need ten rings, try this recent paperclip project: coiled paperclip bracelet.

Project Estimate:

  • Colored paperclips, on hand or $1
  • Needle-nose pliers, on hand or $1

Total:  FREE and up
