Chica and Jo are such great frugal crafters. I love seeing what they come up with! Here’s a great idea for wedding centerpieces (or would even be fun just for home decor – I’m thinking holidays, especially): use dollar store frames to create a special three-sided luminaria for tealights. You can also use battery-operated tealights if you want to avoid the whole fire issue. [click here for project details and instructions]
Project Estimate:
- 3 frames, $3
- Vellum, $1
- 3/4″ ribbon, $1 or on hand
- Hot glue gun, on hand
- Candle or battery-operated tealight, $.50
Total: $4.50 and up

Heather, this is so cool! You find the coolest stuff ever! I wish I could go back in time and get married again so I had a reason to make these. Maybe I’ll make it for a baby present for someone or something…

I came across these, and thought they would look great as centerpieces for my niece’s wedding shower. They were a huge hit, and so affordable!!
