I really LOVE this idea: it’s so simple and versatile. J. Paige at Scatter Sunshine mixed and matched candle holders and fit one inside the other to make this clever creepy candle holder complete with display space for her favorite Halloween decorations. (Check her blog for various other great fall versions of the display candle holder, too!) This idea is infinitely adaptable – you can …

Craftster user trickygirlb made this cute lamp out of three plastic take out-style boxes and a string of twinkle lights. Simple, kitschy and cute! This would be fun for a dorm room or tween/teen room (even for boys!). You can often find the plastic take out boxes in different colors, too. [click here for craftster project]

My husband is a fan of the Rubiks Cube, so when I spotted the dollar store version store a few weeks ago I immediately knew what I would be making for his upcoming birthday — a customized photo cube! I can also see this being done with scrapbook paper or maybe even fabric. (Of course *I* would think fabric!!)

Hello, Dot here from Dabbled.org! I’ve been a huge fan of Dollar Store Crafts for ages, and last week Heather was kind enough to do a nifty halloween Dollar Store tutorial on Dabbled — a spooky Halloween Tree. So today I’m guest posting over here to return the favor! Hope you enjoy it…

Skeleton Hair Clip by My Big Mouth: $2 (for a bunch)
This clip reminds me of Dia de los Muertos, perhaps because of the combination of roses and bones. This project by Donna is a romantically spooky addition to your Halloween wardrobe!
Pumpkin Hair Clip by Angela at Treasures for Tots: $.50
Angela made these embroidered hair clips for her little one. I love the details: the ribbon …

Disney at Ruffles & Stuff made this five-minute mobile for her living room using branches, fishing line, and clip-on birds. You can find a few different kinds of birds at the dollar store (including seasonal crows for Halloween, which would be fun for your spooky fall decor… just change them up after the holiday). So pretty, so simple! Love it! [click here for more pictures …

My sister-in-law Melia is super creative, and has had quite a few great dollar store crafting ideas herself. I LOVE this one: use those dollar store build-a-bear costume kits to decorate jack-o’-lanterns! Great simple idea for some super cute eye-catching pumpkins. This is an especially great activity to do with younger kids who aren’t really old enough to carve pumpkins yet, plus it seems like …

Kristin at Craft Leftovers posted a great tip about making your own “waxed linen” thread. You can use waxed linen-type thread for a variety of crafting projects, such as book binding, jewelry making, and braiding. It’s also a great tool for kiddos to use in beading because you don’t have to have a needle to easily thread it through beads. Make it in a variety …

Corey at Life With Little Ones made these inspirational signs using stuff she found in nature – so cool! This is another great project to make with your autumn nature walk finds. If you don’t feel like using an inspirational word, you could do your child’s name, your last name, or maybe just a monogram. [click here for more info]
Corey didn’t say how she made …
