Bob the Tomato

Hi there! It’s your friendly neighborhood Masked Mommy again :-). My kids are huge Veggie Tales fans, and I had this idea for making them Bob the Tomato toys. It’s very simple to do because he’s made out of a tomato pin cushion which means… no sewing! ;-) Paired with a Veggie Tales Video, I think this makes an adorable gift! [Click here for full directions]

Project Materials:

  • Tomato Pin Cushions (2 for $1.00)
  • sheets of felt, $0.35 each or on hand
  • glue (on hand)
  • black paint (on hand)

Total:  $0.50 and up!

Just a word of warning. I doubt that this would a safe toy for a very young child. Those tomato pin cushions are not meant to be played with at all much less by a young child who is rough on toys. Just be careful about what age child you give this to. Also, since they are usually made in China you have to consider if they are safe for kids at all.
