Make a Gumdrop Wreath

What's the best use for gumdrops you can possibly think of? Making them into a wreath, like the winner of our wreath off, Sarah from Nicholas and Sarah did! This wreath makes me want all my decorations year-round to be made out of candy (and I would totally do that except my two year-old is intrepid and would find a way to eat them all). I know it's a little late for Christmas at this point, but you should file this idea away for next year! Sarah said it only took about an hour to make. [click here for gumdrop wreath tutorial]

Project Estimate:

  • 3 bags of gumdrops, $1 each
  • 10" wreath form, $1
  • Hot glue, on hand
  • Sealer, on hand
  • Ribbon, on hand

Total: $4 and up

What a cute idea! Like you, I would have a hard time keeping my youngest from munching on it. :)

I am thinking very cute tree ornaments could be made based on this idea! Also, I have found out (after saving some clusters I made three years ago) that gum drops actually dry out pretty well on their own, hold their shape and probably don’t need to be sealed. I will definitely be making some of these next holiday!
