Make a Valentine Banner

Reader Heather at My Frugal Family is stuck in bed due to an injury, but she's not letting that keep her from crafting. Check out her hand-stitched Valentine's Day banner. She used a lot of on-hand items, and estimates her cost at about $1.19 for the banner. You can easily customize this project to make use of whatever you have on hand, and you can use your sewing machine or even glue everything together if you desire. I found the link to this project at the Dollar Store Crafts Facebook Page. Come join us there and share your links (and find lots of extra links to cool projects) as well as interacting with me and other Dollar Store Crafters!

Project Estimate:

  • Craft felt, on hand or $.25 a sheet
  • Ribbon, on hand or $1 a spool
  • Pom-poms, sequins, buttons, other decorations, on hand or $1
  • Glue or sewing stuff, on hand

Total: FREE and up

p.s. I want to get a little more personal with you, so I guess I'll use these postscripts to share what's happening in my life. So, here goes! :) If you have any links to share with me, I have limited internet access at the moment, and SUPER limited access to my email address. Sharing links at the FB page works well for me right now.

p.p.s. You can also join the All Things Family blog carnival sponsored by me and some of my friends. Click here for last week's carnival at Raising a Healthy Family. To join this week's Valentine-themed carnival, go here and click on "submit an article" at the bottom of the page to submit your V-day blog entries. Anything family-related is welcome, including crafts, recipes, projects, or anything else you think is appropriate! [join the All Things Family blog carnival]
