Remember those birdies we spotted at the Dollar Tree? Amanda from A Lovely Place to Land remade one into an Anthropologie (and Wisteria)-inspired birdie, putting her own spin on it by decoupaging old book pages to it! Great idea, Amanda, and I love that you didn't just exactly copy a look you saw somewhere else but were inspired to do your own thing with it. Also, check out Amanda's series "Mockingbird Monday" where she makes something inspired by design and decor she sees in catalogs. [click here for all the details on this bird project]
You could also use a similar technique to make birds inspired by these ones from Pottery Barn.
Project Estimate:
- Bird, $1
- Old book pages, on hand or $1 (or less, hopefully)
- Mod Podge, on hand
Total: $1

Ooooooooooh, I LOVE this little birdie! I think I’m going to have to make one!
I think the newspaper finish looks really nice and rustic and you could easily leave it like that, but I bet it wouldn’t be hard to get the same look as those pottery barn birds, with the right black paint and maybe some polish!

I love this bird! Will try to make one this weekend. Fingers crossed that it will come out as lovely as yours.
I love this! I’m going to repost it on my Facebook group! Awesome.
Very cool idea! I have spent enough money at anthropologie as it is!
