Make Easy and Cute Stencil Wall Art

Check out this great idea from reader Amber Filkins: easy stencil wall art. She used felt cutouts she found at the dollar tree to create these cute canvases for her daughter's room. The process is pretty simple, and you can make custom art easily with this process. [check out Amber's blog for the tutorial]

You can find these felt cutouts in the holiday sections at Dollar Tree, or you could also use the die-cut shapes found in the school supplies section (I have some pirate cutouts in my stash right now, but they come in a lot of different themes). Or, what about using die-cut letters to make personalized art with your child's name or an inspirational word? The possibilities are many with this cool technique. You can get basic colors of spray paint for less than a dollar at big box stores and home improvement stores, but fashion colors of spray paint will run you more like $3-4. Of course, one can will do a lot of DIY-ing for you, so it's a good way to spend your money!

Project Estimate:

  • Canvas, $1 and up
  • Felt cutout or other cutout, $1
  • Spray paint, $1 and up

Cost: $3 and up
