I just made my first Dollar Store Crafts video: Dollar Scores. In my Dollar Store Finds post the other day, you saw the things I thought were cool at the dollar store, but you haven't seen what I actually brought home with me. I did some Halloween shopping, with budget costumes in mind. Check out my dollar store haul in this video, find out what I plan to do with this stuff, and comment on the video to win a prize.

Subscribe to my Youtube channel, and let me know what you think about videos. Do you watch them, or do you skip them?

Oh love the skulls to make recycled crayons!! I love melting crayons and have never tried shapes before.

They also had pumpkin ice cube trays. I forgot to mention that.

Love the video idea, it just gives another dimension to things :) I really appreciate the Dollar Scores posts, it’s nice to have someone do some pre-shopping for me!

While I don’t hate videos, I usually don’t watch them either. There are no speakers hooked up to this pc so things that require me to have sound are a pain…

I love these ideas and Im going straight to the dollar tree to get all of these things!

W00t! Great first vid! I got some great ideas just from your voiceover, without even seeing the finished crafts, so I’d say – successful. Would I subscribe? I haven’t been a youtube subscriber before, so I’m not sure if I would jump on that train. But if you had these embedded in posts like this I would absolutely watch! So many people love the youtube, it’s got to be a great addition to the website. Genius ideas: sugar skulls from those ice trays! And the princess corset and undergarment.

I can’t wait to go to the dollar tree to get the googly-eyes and pumpkin ice cube tray. Thanks for sharing

The video is great BUT keep your website the way it is. Adding video is fine, but don’t start substituting your blogs with video. A lot of gals who work, stop by your website during a busy day for fun and creativity. Videos will just get us into too much trouble!

Congrats on your first video! I like watching blogger’s videos but I am not a YouTube subscriber.

I shop at Dollarama – the Canadian equivalent of Dollartree. I look at this site everyday. I absolutely love the ideas here! I bought the skull tray a year ago and used them to make halloween chocolates!I melted 60% dark chocolate, added raisens and nuts and then let them cool They turned out great and my friends loved them! All the supplies – raisens, nuts, dark chocolate and tray came from the dollarstore. Here is a picture! http://www.flickr.com/photos/37071269@N04/4911353369/

This would also be a great activity for kids. You could probably even make your own gummy or jell-o skulls too. As ice cubes though they kind of fail. You can’t really make out the shape when it’s transparent.

Oh yeah! I am totally subscribing to your channel – I am a dollarstore fanatic. Maybe I should start making videos of what I’ve found! Oh my gosh yes! It will be epic!

It’s 9:35 PM and I want to go to Dollar Tree and buy silicone skull ice cube trays. I have a one eyed dog so pirates are a year round thing with us. Also I performed at a Renaissance Festival for 8 years and I have a whole closet full of pirate and princess clothes and real swords on my walls (for stage combat.)

You’re all set for Talk Like a Pirate Day. I think it’s in September.

Your dollar store seems to have a bit more options than the one near me! I did score some sweet sticky notes which are one continuous roll and you just rip off the amount you need like you would tape! Two colors in one container. They worked pretty well too!

    Love your blog!
I got two of the pumpkin ice cube trays last year and use one for candy or ice cubes and one for crayons. My daughter loves it since her Gramma calls her pumpkin! We also tend to rummage through the crows, since we collect them.

I am a visual person (which sounds weird to me, aren’t we all?) and I love videos. I subscribed as soon as I finished watching…and heck yeah, we would love to win some silly bands :)

Loved your video! I really like hearing how you’re using items in unusual ways. It helps the rest of us be creative. I love your list of ideas for the silicone molds, and I’d love to see the princess costume when you’re done.

I just discovered your blog and promptly subscribed. Great video! We have a lot of Dollar Tree stores in the Twin Cities so I will check them out often. My 3 year old is starting to show a real interest in crafts (yay!) and in princesses (meh) and your blog is going to be the perfect resource.

    Thanks!
