recycled bottle necklace

Recycling plastic into crafts is a fun and eco-friendly alternative to tossing said plastic into the trashcan. Peaches from Aunt Peaches made this fun melted plastic statement necklace with #6 plastic party cups she melted Shrinky-Dink style in her oven. I think it looks kind of like sea glass! These melted plastic pieces would also be pretty on earrings, or connected together like links. [how to make a recycled plastic necklace] [via oneprettything]

Project Estimate:

  • Recycled #6 plastic cups, on hand or $1
  • Chain, $1
  • Scissors and hole punch, on hand
  • Oven, on hand

Total: $1 and up

wow, what an incredible necklace. It’s even more incredible that it’s made from plastic cups. Instead of plastic, it actually looks like stained glass.
