Alexa at The Swell Life always has the best Halloween ideas -- she even devotes the whole month of October to sharing fabulous Halloween ideas and hosts a Tuesday link party called Terrorific Tuesday devoted to all projects Halloween. This little vintage-inspired pumpkin head box is one of her creations from a couple years ago. It was inspired by a similar box she saw on sale for $50. I thought you might enjoy it because it's cute, but also because it reminds me of the vintage look Pottery Barn Kids is featuring in their Halloween collection this year. Also, the dollar store has many of the supplies you'll need to make this project, including papier-mache boxes. [how to make a vintage-inspired Halloween pumpkin box]

Project Estimate:

  • Papier-mache box, $1
  • Small faux pumpkin, $1
  • Scrapbook paper, on hand or $1
  • Craft paint, on hand
  • Various embellishments, on hand
  • Glue, tape, etc., on hand

Total: $2 and up

I love it! It reminds me of some of the old fashioned German Halloween decorations.
