Admiring the look of 3D decorator stars, but not having extra cash to spend on buying them, Nike at Choose to Thrive figured out how to make them herself out of disposable baking pans. This project has some of the most impressive results from humble materials I've seen in quite awhile! You can make these large or small, for use in decor or as ornaments for your Christmas tree. Use what you have, or get a few supplies at the dollar store. Instructions here: [how to make your own craft stars]

Project Estimate:

  • Disposable baking pan, on hand or $1
  • Ruler, scissors, pen with lid, tape, on hand
  • Paint, on hand

Total: FREE and up

They have big paper stars in the christmas section at the dollar store right now. They’re made of pretty sturdy tag board. The finish on them is that cheap holographic metallic stuff, but you could easily spray paint it in whatever color/finish you’d like.

I bought a few and plan to do just this once I’m done using them as giant ornaments.
