It happens to me all the time: I forget about a birthday party until the last minute, and when I go to wrap my hastily-made gift, I realize that the only wrapping paper I have on hand is Christmas-themed. Ever the clever one, Jeromina from Paper, Plate, and Plane came up with a solution appropriate for any event: date stamp wrapping paper! Make custom wrapping …

Make doll clothes and accessories with things you can buy at the dollar store!
Before I had kids, I used to go to that doll aisle at Target that has the 18″ dolls (like the American Girl dolls) with all the cool clothes, accessories, horses, etc. and imagine the day when I could buy all that cool doll stuff! Now I have three kids, but they …

Some time ago, I bought a few rolls of electrical tape for something completely unrelated to DIY/jewelry. The seventh Iron Craft challenge and contest of 2011 was “Midas Touch.” The ideas they gave us were using gold leaf, cooking with gold, making jewelry, embellishing clothing or take it in a whole different direction and surprise us all. The only guideline that was set in place is that you keep “gold” in mind, instead of “yellow”. If you have to deviate, then go ‘silver’.

Are you a gourmet salt snob, or would you like to be one? Here’s a simple and cheap way to bring your favorite salts anywhere with you. Make a portable gourmet salt kit! I’ve always loved fancy, pretty notebooks, but have seldom owned one because of the ridiculous prices they charge for the primo ones. It’s hard to justify spending $8 on a super-cool, multi-subject notebook when you could get ten times more paper buying plain, single-subject notebooks. If you’re lucky enough to own or have access to a binding machine, you can make a notebook out of …

I’ll admit it, cleaning my house is not my idea of a good time. However, finding great deals is tons of fun. These dollar deals on cleaning supplies (found at Target’s Dollar Spot) may be just what a bargain-hunter like me needs to get her cleaning groove on. These nifty little items may make cleaning (somewhat) fun:
