The Superbowl is this weekend!  Will your household be watching?  We’re more into hockey around our house, and though we don’t follow football closely through the regular season, we do enjoy playoff time.  If you’re hosting a game day party, you’re probably planning to a snack food buffet.  Get crafty with your spread with these awesome football ideas!

Your spread will need a centerpiece, of course! Kristin at Life in Wonderland dressed up a vase to look like a football with a few basic craft supplies that would be perfect for the job.  Yes, sporty and feminine can coexist!  This is just one of Kristin’s great ideas for the big game; check out her blog post for this project and more awesome football craft ideas.  [how to make a football flower vase]

Give your spread a sweet and festive touch with these chocolate-covered strawberry footballs by Christie at From Glitter to Gumdrops.  (If you eat fruit with your chocolate, does that make it health food?  That’s what I keep telling myself anyway.)   Drop by her blog for super easy directions!  [how to make chocolate covered football strawberries]

If cupcakes are more your style, these deceptively easy football cupcakes from Bakerella are SO cute!  She used football-shaped candles, but if you can’t find those, football beads would work as well and are easy to come by. Or, if you’re feeling ambitious, she also has a tutorial for some really yummy-looking football truffles!  [how to make football field cupcakes]

At Lizard & Ladybug I came across some very nice free football printables designed by Staci.  If you are planning to give out favors, she has some very cute printable tags.  (Or place cards, or picture frames…)  There several different cupcake toppers, which you can mix and match together for even more design options.   You can even craftify your candy dish with some really cute smaller printables designed to decorate small candies like peanut butter cups or Hershey’s kisses!  [free football printbales]

Once you’ve got all of your snacks rounded up, you’ll need to put out the spread so that your guests can raid the buffet at halftime.  Make your tabletop into a football field with this awesome tablecloth  idea from Hostess With the Mostess.  (I love the detail of the little players scattered about!)  [how to make a football field tablecloth]

Last year, our contributor Care came up with two great football party decoration ideas, including this clever astroturf centerpiece. [football decorations: two-for-one]

Party on!
