No matter how many TP tube crafts I see, there will never be enough to keep up with the speed at which my stash of them grows. If you, like me, are a saver-of-all-things-reusable, you will appreciate this adorable Easter idea from Amanda of Crafts by Amanda. She used cardboard tubes and a few basic craft supplies that you probably already have laying around to make a whole family of bunny rabbits. (Insert “awwwww” here.) You mean napkin tube? Please tell me that no one is actually using toilet paper rolls for kid projects. This is an otherwise fun project for the kids. My little girl loves napkin roll projects. :) We have a little stock pile of napkin tubes to use and I think we’re going to try other animals, too. Awesome idea!

@Lisa, thanks for the reminder.

@Lisa – this project uses both toilet paper tubes and paper towel tubes. It states in the instructions if you are uncomfortable with using bathroom tissue tubes, to use paper towel tubes. :)
Thanks so much for the feature Rhonda! Really appreciate it!

@ Amanda and anyone else – I am a fan of DSC and send my crafty friends here all the time. We do projects together with the kids and the use of toilet paper tubes has been a topic of discussion once or trice. I don’t think many folks actually use TP tubes. I’m in no way putting down any projects. If I thought the craftyness was gross, I just wouldn’t come here much less comment. I don’t think I’ll ever stop coming here. The reason I voice my opinion is because as a follower of the site, my voice matters. At least, I think it does.
Napkin roll tubes not only sounds much cleaner, it’ll keep it safer for those of us who have older kids that come here on their own for projects. Kids don’t always think twice and just follow directions. I’m potty training my 3 year old and she sometimes goes on her own and leaves a mess for the next person to find. Older kids wont think twice about checking to see if the toilet roll tube is clean on the inside. Us moms, aunts, grandma’s, grandpa’s, uncles and dads try to keep things clean and safe for the kids. Toilet paper tubes are’t the cleanest material to use.
I get your point, though. To each his own.
@ Heather, my apologies if I came off rude. Not my intention. Please keep up the great work. This site has come a long way!!

No problem, everyone! Discussing craft supply options is totally fine! :)

Yee-haw! My boys have been asking to make some Easter projects & I have been groaning over our ridiculous stash of cardboard tubes {and yes, I keep the tp ones too}. These will be precious on our crafty mantel. Thanks so much for sharing, Amanda!

I don’t know why some people won’t use TP rolls. Of course no one would use dirty ones!! How on earth would they be dirty in the first place? I have been saving them up since I saw this idea. It is sooo cute. Thanks Heather.
