bottle cap crayon candle

Make teeny tiny candles out of recycled bottle caps and melted crayons. Such a fun an ingenious idea from Craftaholics Anonymous. This is one of the most impressive crafts I've seen in awhile! I have tinted candles with crayons, but I never thought about just melting crayons into candles. And, I love the use of bottle caps to make wee candles. [how to make crayon bottlecap candles]

Project Estimate:

  • Recycled bottle caps, on hand
  • Recycled crayons, on hand or $1
  • Wicks, $1.50
  • Recycled soup can, on hand

Total: $1.50 and up

    They probably won’t smell very nice but they do have great novelty appeal.

    Hi!

    I just tried making these and have some comments:
    a) The wicks ‘die’ as soon as the crayon melts.
    b) The smell when you make these is a safe way to a head ache which leads me to
    c) they will probably cause headaches when you light them too (since mine didn’t work for long enough to make them really burn I can’t be sure about this one).

    Has anyone else got any tried making these cute things? ‘Cause they truly are pretty!

    Hi Heather,
    Thanks for the feature! I really appreciate it!

    Marie: Yes, crayons don’t smell nice when burned! lol They are meant as a fun novelty candle, not really for function. {look at their size!! hehe}

    happy crafting!
