We’re ecstatic to have the ever-so-talented Sophie, aka sister #2 of The Sisters 4 Say More Is More and the creative mind behind Jagged Ideal, back with us today to share another fabulous project.  Today she shows us how to make a leafy, springy wreath that packs a lot of visual punch without making a big dent in your wallet and with much less effort than you might expect.  I love the simple, clean look of it!  You can also substitute autumn colors for the green to make a lovely wreath for fall.  Thanks, Sophie!

Project estimate:

  • Glue gun, on hand
  • Sewing machine or needle and thread, on  hand
  • 1/2 yard green fabric, on hand or $1 and up
  • 1/2 yard green felt, on hand or $1 and up
  • Wreath form, $1

Total:  $1 and up

This project is really simple.  I got my spring green fabric from the sale fabric section at Walmart (1.50 a yard).  You can find felt almost anywhere for a good price as well. My thread was 2.00 and I got the wreath from Dollar Tree 1.00 (I was surprised how big it was).

1) The most time consuming part of this project is the cutting.  I cut 36 leaves out of felt and 36 leaves out of regular fabric. The leaves are 4 inches by 2 and a half inches.

2) Sew a straight line down each of your leaves attaching the a felt leaf with a fabric leaf.

3) Using your hot glue gun attach the leaves felt side down to your wreath. I glued in clusters of three. First I glued two leaves on the sides then one in the middle and continued in that pattern all the way around.

All done. So easy!
