Can you imagine how much more lucrative crafting would be if we could all charge Anthropologie-like prices and get $100 for a lampshade or $200 for a necklace at craft shows? Some of Anthro’s products especially beg to be copied, like their “Hue Pyramid” earrings. Priced at $98 a pair, they’re made from an old recycled craft standby: rolled paper beads. (Yup, almost a hundred bucks for what largely amounts to an elementary school art project!) Over at Mad Mim, frugally-minded fashionista Miriam made her own pair that are nearly identical to their overpriced, mail-order counterpart, using all things that she had on hand. Just think of the dollar store shopping spree you could take with the $98 you’ll save! [how to make Anthropologie-inspired rolled paper bead earrings]
Project estimate:
- Magazine pages, on hand
- Glue, on hand
- Bamboo skewer, on hand
- Wire, on hand or $1 and up
- Beads, on hand or $1 and up
- Earring hooks, on hand or $1
- Pliers, on hand
Total: Free and up

Wow! These are so pretty! I would skip the dollar store and buy that overpriced lampshade with the money I saved. ;) (not really.)

Very cute! And they look great for parties. Another way is to just hook one rolled paper bead strait onto the bottom of the hook. You can make them spheres, too! Also, you could use recycled paper or plain white paper and coat it with any color nail polish to give the glossy shine and the exact color you want.
