Don't you love those discoveries that only come as the result of an experiment?  Sometimes you just can't predict how materials are going to react to a process, and that's half the fun of crafting!  When PC from MeiJo's Joy started playing around with the foil-lined wrapper from a package of ramen noodles, she had no idea that when glued down it would somehow pull itself into a nifty pattern!  The resulting faux stainless steel looks a lot more complicated to make than it actually is, and everything for this project was rescued from the trash!  [how to make a faux stainless steel vase]

Project estimate:

  • Potato chip canister, on hand
  • Foil-backed wrapper, on hand
  • Glue, on hand

Total:  Free!

i think using doritos or any kind of foiled back wrapper would have the same effect … :)

This is not a perfect ‘art’ – just to share what a piece of junk may come into – it’s not a fine touch up version yet!
