First, I have to say that I agree with her-name-isn’t-really-Madigan from Madigan Made when she discusses the use of gold-colored metals in home decor. As a child of the 80s, I’ve seen my share of tacky brass headboards and chandeliers. But this project is tacky in a much more literal sense! The copper ribbon is a perfect finishing touch over the layered brass thumb tacks, and I love how her thoughtful use of warm, mixed metals has a distinctly autumnal feel. If metals aren’t your thing, add a little bit of spray paint and give the finish a look that matches your aesthetic! [how to make a golden fall thumb tack wreath]
Project estimate:
- Foam wreath form, $1
- About 3 packages brass thumb tacks, $3 and up
- Ribbon, on hand or $1
Total: $4 and up

Yup! Brass and popped collar Lacoste shirts — pretty much sums up the 80’s.

So cool. I saw gold tone thumbtacks at Dollar Tree this weekend!
