recycled plastic bottle cookie packaging

Here's a clever use for old clear water bottles! Transform them into cute packaging for cupcakes and cookies. This great idea is just in time for holiday baking season, and is the invention of one of our favorite innovative bloggers, Jeromina Juan of paperplateandplane. Use this cute packaging idea for teacher or neighbor gifts, or even for a holiday bake sale. [how to make recycled plastic packaging for baked goods]

Jeromina used washi tape (cute patterned tape), which you can find at the Japanese dollar store (if you are lucky enough to live near one - Vancouver and Seattleites, and those who live in Los Angeles or San Diego! Oh, and those of you who live in Japan, of course!), or you can order it online. Or, substitute the washi tape for cute ribbon and double-stick tape.

You're gonna need something cute to put inside these, too. I'll leave that to you!

Project Estimate:

  • Recycled water bottles, on hand
  • Washi tape, $1.50 (optional)
  • Double-stick tape, $1
  • Ribbon, $1
  • Recycled cardboard, on hand

Total: $2 and up

That girl is brilliant! I love the one with macarons, so perfect for the shape of the cookies.
