homemade seed tape

I have been really excited about garden ideas this spring, and this idea for DIY seed tape made from dollar store streamers is possibly the best idea I've seen so far this spring. No surprise it was from Jess, the brilliant mind behind Mad in Crafts. Jess is a genius with dollar store crafts! Jess has created a very simple way to sow seeds in your garden, and even get your kids involved (but still get everything done right). [how to make homemade seed tape]

You can even pick up seeds at some dollar stores this time of year.

Project Estimate:

  • Cornstarch, $1
  • White party streamers, $1
  • Measuring tape, on hand or $1
  • A washable marker, on hand
  • Seeds, $1 and up

Total: $3 and up

The best ideas are the ones that make you say “duh!” after you see them. I definitely had a “duh” moment with this one! Great job, Jessica!

I love it when things can be used this way like they were meant for that although their primary purpose it entirely different.
