I am the type of girl who buys one or more pairs of flip-flops at the beginning of summer, and live in them for 3 months. This year, the dollar store even has a great selection of flippie floppies. This braided ribbon flip-flop makeover by Andrea’s Bow Cottage uses a simple ribbon braiding technique to give a custom look to a plain pair of flip-flops. You can use any ribbon you like, including ribbon you find at the dollar store. I just found some adorable printed ribbon there last week – it has cherries on it! [how to make braided ribbon flip flops]
I like the look of the plain braid on the strap, but you can also go even further and put a ribbon bow on them too. Or how about a silk flower

Thanks for featuring my project!!

It would be nice if you would have shown people how to make them. They’re so cute and I wanted to give it a shot, but I’m not sure how to attatch the ribbon the shoe or braid them.

Meg, we do provide a link to the directions. It’s at the end of the first paragraph in brackets [like this]. There is even a video showing how it is done, which should hopefully answer all of your questions!

These are very cute…..I could figure the braid making out, but they are so very very cute. Awesome job.

I tried making the braid with a ribbon that had one shiny side and the other side was plain. Just didn’t look right. Should have chosen a ribbon that was the same on both sides. You might want to suggest this.
