Since I’ve been working on my dollar store garden this summer, I’ve been on the lookout for awesome outdoor projects.  And this one is truly amazing!  Ashley from Ashley DIY wanted a new bird bath, so rather than buying one from the store, she gathered some household items to use as molds and a couple of bags of concrete mix and – presto!  A cute, durable DIY bird bath was born.  They also make colored additives that you can put into the concrete as you mix it; if I make one, I think I might go for a terra cotta look by adding some red!  [how to make a concrete bird bath]

Project estimate:

  • Concrete mix, about $5
  • Large container for mixing, on hand or $1 and up
  • Bowls, on hand or $2
  • Trash can, on hand or $1
  • Cooking oil, on hand
  • Burlap, on hand or $1 and up
  • Embellishments (optional), on hand or $1 and up
  • Sealant, about $10 and up

Total:  about $15 and up
