This week I'd like to show you how to turn a cone and an extra large Dollar Tree ornament into a pretty DIY Christmas angel.

Last week I showed you how to make rustic angel ornaments using recycled items. This week I’d like to show you how to turn a cone and an extra large Dollar Tree ornament into a pretty piece of decor that looks like an angel.

I’ve always loved angel decor, but it’s a style I haven’t revisited in a long time. This year I find myself coming back to angels, and it’s developed into my crafting theme this holiday season.

This week I'd like to show you how to turn a cone and an extra large Dollar Tree ornament into a pretty piece of decor that looks like an angel.

Project Estimate:

  • Plastic doll cone – $1
  • Ornament – $1
  • Dowel rod – on hand
  • Fabric – on hand
  • Wings – $1
  • Glue gun – on hand
Total – $3 and up
Angel DIY, step 1 - This week I'd like to show you how to turn a cone and an extra large Dollar Tree ornament into a pretty piece of decor that looks like an angel.
Step one:  Remove the cap from the ornament, and place a dowel rod in the ornament.  Slip this into the cone. Use hot glue to stabilize it if needed.
Step two:  Hot glue the fabric to the cone, and trim off the excess.  Glue trim around the neck if desired.

Step three:  Hot glue wings to the back of the angel.
