This wonderful mosaic clock was made from broken Christmas dishes and glass marbles. You should be able to find a large selection of appropriate crockery at the dollar store, or check the thrift store. You can always wait until after the holidays and get holiday dishes at 90% off, then make a few of these clocks and stash them away for next year's gift list. [Project: elsbeth's mosaics on flickr]

Project Estimate:

  • Clock, $1
  • Assorted Christmas dishes $5-10
  • Marbles $1
  • Flat frame $1 (cut one to size from scrap wood, if needed)
  • Grout $1

Total Cost: $9 and up
