Can you believe this cute clutch was made from a single place mat? In case you haven’t noticed yet, the dollar store often has a very wide selection of fancy place mats to choose from. Find a sturdy place mat with some body to it for this project. Thanks to Spool for the tutorial for this quick-to-make project!

If you’re afraid to sew, the sewing is very basic for this project, so it is a good one to help sharpen your skills.

Project Estimate:

  • Place mat, $1
  • Sewing machine and thread, on hand

Total cost: $1
