Better Homes & Gardens posted this cute and simple idea for dressing up your Easter eggs: use terrycloth to make an adorable little egg cozy shaped like a baby chick. You can use the baby washcloths found 4 for $1 at the dollar store to make these, and use them to decorate candy-filled plastic eggs that you put in your Easter baskets (that is, if you aren’t serving soft-boiled eggs in egg cups on the blessed morning!)
The instructions on the website aren’t very detailed, so you’ll pretty much just have to make your own pattern up, but it shouldn’t be too difficult for you!
Project Estimate:
- Baby washcloths, 4 for $1
- Black felt, on hand or $.25 a sheet
- Black thread, on hand
Total cost per chick: about $.25
