The Long Thread posted a simple but genius idea to spruce up a dingy old mouse pad! This project is quick and easy, and is a great way to show off a scrap of fabric that you absolutely love in a place where you’ll be able to enjoy it a lot! You might need to pick up one or two specialty supplies for this project, but they are things you will use again and again. [link to full project instructions]
If you don’t have spray adhesive (it comes in a can that looks like spray paint), it’s a very useful glue that you can use for all kinds of crafty applications. Fray Check is used to keep raw edges of fabric from coming unraveled, and is likely to be your best friend in dollar store crafting. If you don’t have a rotary cutter and mat, they aren’t too expensive and will make a lot of your crafting life MUCH easier and more precise.
Project Estimate:
- Mouse pad, on hand or $1
- Spray adhesive, on hand
- Rotary cutter & mat, on hand
- Fray Check, on hand or add to your supply arsenal
- Spare fabric, on hand
Total cost: FREE and up
