Hi all! It’s your friendly neighborhood Masked Mommy again, and today I wanted to share a craft with you that is fairy simple to do, and is really cheap but has expensive looking results. You can turn any ordinary bottle- plastic or glass- into an old fashioned, leather-looking bottle. [instructions to project here]
Although I’m sure everyone has extra bottles around their house, they do sell things in bottles at the Dollar Store. So if you’re desperate, you can totally buy something and dump it out ;-) You can also find glue and masking tape at the Dollar Tree, along with shoe polish. (And my shoe polish totally did come from the Dollar Tree because I shop there all the time!) haha!
I think these would make a great package for a homemade gift, such as packaging chocolate covered raisins or homemade vanilla.
Project Estimate:
- Bottle, on hand or $1
- Masking tape, on hand or $1
- Shoe Polish, $1
- Glue, on hand or $1
Total Cost: $1
It was good to see you all today! Don’t forget to stop by my blog for more craft ideas and to say “hi”! :-)

I have been using masking tape for years in this way-in fact ,try weaving a basket like pattern over a box with attached lid—–it looks really great -like a faux trunk if you add a metal latch and corner protectors.Keep on creating…

This is a great method, I have also used this to refinish a very blah-looking picture frame I had. Loved it. Thanks for the idea.
