zipper bag organization

If you're like me, the worst part of trying to get organized is all the little stuff -- LEGOS!! or crafting stuff like ribbon scraps, pompoms, felt bits, and all those other little itty-bitty bits.  Today I've got one super easy, FAST solution to this organization problem: create a filing system using zipper-type plastic bags sewn together with pretty fabric scraps.  [Go to tutorial]

Project Estimate:

  • Zipper bags, on hand (I also  found packages of robot or mermaid theme ones on Target's dollar aisle!)
  • Fabric or Ribbon scrap, on hand

Total cost:  Free and up

Caroline Sanchez (Care) has been sewing since her mom taught her the basics at around six years old.  She has always been driven to CREATE, even from a very young age.  She is mommy to two little boys and one baby girl, and almost every spare moment she has is spent in her sewing room or working on her blog, Obsessively Stitching.

I have done something like this for my scrapbook supplies only I used binder rings and punched holes in my bags and reinforced them with those little sticker hole things– sorry, I’m tired and my vocabulary is the first to go. :) But I have been using that thing for six years and it still works great. Just an idea for people who are sewing challenged, like me. :)

Great idea!! That would give you that tiny bit of extra space for paper scraps!
