Folks, keep your eyes peeled when you hit those post-Christmas sales.  There is so much to be made from those Christmas cast-offs!  Today I have two such projects to show you.

First, I will show you how to use a giant felt stocking from the dollar store to make an EASY Red Riding Hood cape for your little one.  You'll probably even have enough felt left over to make a matching one for her dolly!  [get instructions here]

Project Estimate:

  • giant felt stocking, $1 (or less if you hit after-Christmas sales!)
  • coordinating ribbon, on hand

Total: $1

Next, make a fabulously fancy fur-trimmed cape for your 18" doll with Wendy at Old Days - Old Ways, using a Santa hat.  Most of the work is already done for you!  [go to tutorial]

Project Estimate:

  • Santa hat, $1 (or less! check those sales!)
  • ribbon, on hand

Total: $1

Now I'm wondering what else I can make from Christmas leftovers!!
