Make a Ring from an Eraser

Use a big eraser to fashion a pink ring that’s big on style. Find out how from Kerri at cute.little.disaster, a design student who made this ring as a series of 60 rings for a materials exploration class in design school. I won’t give away the creation process, but I will give you a hint: it involves a whole lotta erasing! We also featured another of Kerri’s ring projects awhile back.  [click here for the eraser ring tutorial]

Project Estimate:

  • Large pink eraser, $1
  • Drill, on hand
  • Piece of scrap paper, on hand

Total: $1 and some elbow grease

Speaking of rings, my friend Shannon of Ruby Girl Creations is creating a ring a day in 2010, and created a couple of masterpieces the other day when she sand-casted some Legos into rings. You must check them out! I am really excited by the idea of creating the same item out of different materials. Sounds like a fun project!
