Makeup Bag from Handbag

I've been on the lookout for a new makeup bag for ages -- years, in fact!  The one I've been using, although cute, is ridiculously small.  I just haven't been able to find one that meets my perameters without costing way too much.  I finally found a solution at the dollar store -- it just needed a quick adjustment to do the job right!

It actually started life as a handbag with no closure.  I simply ditched the handles and added a zipper!  Anyone can do this!  [find out how here]

Project Estimate:

  • handbag, $1
  • zipper, $1 or on hand

Total:  $1 and up!

Great idea! I have seen some cute handbags at the DS that I would NEVER use as a purse, but would be great makeup bags.

Brilliant idea. Instead of throwing away all your handbags, you can make it as a makeup bag. Great post!
