Shannon at Shannon Makes Stuff created this cool chore board using those metal tins you can find in the wedding section at the dollar store. The tins contain the chore as well as a reward for the chore - so cool!  [click here for Shannon's chore board tutorial] [via]

I love those little tins. I am sure there are many more great uses for them - so if you have any good ideas, send 'em on over! I used them to make personalized Christmas ornaments, but I ran out of time and didn't get to post about them before the holidays were over - look for the project next year, I guess!

Project Estimate:

  • Unfinished wood frame, $1 and up
  • Metal tins, 3 for $1 (you'll need several packages to fit your frame)
  • Scrapbook paper, on hand or $1
  • Sheet metal to fit your frame (or use one of those metal trays from the dollar store!), $1
  • 25 strong magnets, about $5
  • Stain, on hand (you can also use acrylic craft paint or spray paint)
  • Mod Podge, on hand

Total: $10 and up

I got this idea from a friend who received this as a gift from her sister in law. Her’s was actually a advent calendar for Christmas. There was the 25 numbers on the tins and in each tin was an activity to do for Christmas that night!!!
