Cut down on the dishes-doing by giving every member of your home a personalized mug. These designer-inspired monogram mugs by Gabrielle at Design Mom are simple and cheap to make, especially if you hit up the thrift or dollar store to find plain mugs. These would make fun housewarming gifts or party favors, too. Gabrielle used graphite transfer paper for her project, but you can approximate the effect by using a plain piece of paper completely scribbled over with a pencil. [how to make monogram mugs] [via]

Project Estimate:

  • Plain mug, $.50 and up
  • Pebeo Porcelaine Pen, about $4
  • Graphite transfer paper (or make your own), on hand

Total: $.50 and up
