Make a Silverware Starburst Mirror
We here at DSC are suckers for the starburst/sunburst mirror look in all its many variations. It's no surprise then that I fell in love with this project that's perfect for the kitchen or dining room. Beverly at Flamingo Toes used silverware to make a gorgeous, eye-catching pattern around her mirror. Most dollar stores carry silverware that has basic, clean lines; for a more intricate look, thrift stores are a great source for vintage silverware for cents a piece. This project is also a great use for any extra Mardi Gras beads you have laying around! [how to make a silverware starburst mirror]
Project estimate:
- Silverware, about $8
- Round mirror, $1 and up
- Plate, on hand or $1
- Beads, on hand or $1 and up
- Cardboard, on hand
- Glue, on hand
Total: $9 and up

It looks really cool — actually a lot cooler than I would have imagined if I had just heard the term “Silverware Starburst Mirror.” Good find!
Woohooooo! Thanks so much for featuring my mirror!!
What a treat! :)
What an awesome Idea! I love wall art and home accessories that use silverware…so fun!
I can’t wait to try this!
[...] mirrors, but have you seen one made from silverware? Don’t miss this creative project on the Dollar Store Crafts [...]
It really is eye catching, I like it!
I LOVE THIS!!!
I need a clock for my kitchen, I think I will do this, but put a clock in the middle, instead of a mirror. :)))
This is awesome!! I’ve been looking for something fun in the kitchen and I think this would be great. Great if I could make it look as good as yours, of course. Did you get the silverware from a thrift store? I think it would be really pretty if it were spray painted black; I might have to give it a shot!
I really love this idea. I just pinned it on penterest and I can’t wait to try it! I don’t know what will be more fun… shopping for the pieces or putting it all together :)
