Have we mentioned lately how brilliant our readers are?  This year’s super secret stashbusters are just blowing us away!  The latest idea comes from stashbuster Cyn in Ontario:  DIY sidewalk chalk!  She used a cylindrical ice cube tray from her stash box as a mold, though she also suggests a bunch of other free or cheap mold ideas with her tutorial; she also has a handful of ideas for different ways to color your homemade chalk.  ‘Tis the season for sidewalk art!  [how to make sidewalk chalk]

Project estimate:

  • Plaster of paris, on hand or $3 and up
  • Water, on hand
  • Food coloring, on hand or $1 and up
  • Ice cube tray or other mold, on hand or $1 and up

Total:  Free and up

Cyn also made some functional wall art for near her door to help her be more ready every time she leaves the house, as well as an Aquarius-inspired wall hanging.  Be sure to stop by her blog and read about them!
