I usually prefer cute Halloween over the gory kind, so I like to avert my eyes when I see the fake severed limb area of my local dollar store! Over at Very Vegan Holiday, Andrea had a different idea, and transformed the icky fake body parts into gilded trophies to give out as costume contest awards at her Halloween party. After the limbs get a good coat of gold spray paint, I can get over my heebie-jeebies and see how great this idea is! [how to make halloween costume contest trophies]
Project Estimate:
- A fake plastic severed body part, $1
- A wooden plaque, $1 and up
- Gold spray paint, on hand or about $3
- Black acrylic paint, on hand or about $1
- Clear acrylic sealer, on hand or about $5
- One long or several short wooden dowels, about $.50
- Heavy-duty glue, on hand
Total: $2.50 and up
