wrapped ornament

These pretty fabric-wrapped ornaments are a quick and easy Christmas craft project, made by Honeybear Lane. This project would make a great stashbusting project for fabric scraps, and I think it would be a fun one for a girls' craft night out. Kids could make these as a nicer-looking ornament to give to teachers (or teachers, have your classroom make these for their parents). [how to make fabric-wrapped ornaments]

Project Estimate:

  • Round ornament or styrofoam ball, several for $1
  • 10x10" piece of fabric, on hand
  • Ribbon, on hand
  • Floral pick, $1

Total: $2

I’ve adapted this project to make Santa’s sack ornaments. I had a bit of burlap leftover from another project. I also had some batting (recycled – salvaged when my parents did a reupholstery project) which I used instead of the ball ornaments. Tied with satin ribbon (some new, some recycled), embellished with bits from a floral pick (from a garage sale) Ribbon loops glued in place and presto…almost instant ornaments at negligible cost. Looked great, quick & easy! Thanks for featuring this project
