Make Mardi Gras Beads Coasters

Mardi Gras is nearly here, so time to shop at the dollar store for your Mardi Gras beads needs. And then get crafty! Over at Rust & Sunshine, Michelle created a quick and easy coaster project that uses Mardi Gras beads and shows them off to the greatest advantage. Use these coasters for your Fat Tuesday party, or for just a little bit of bling in your everyday bar decor. [how to make mardi gras beaded coasters]
If you want a different look, spray paint the beads first. If you spray them white, they will have a nice romantic cottage/Shabby Chic look.
Project Estimate:
- Felt, on hand or about $.33 a sheet
- Mardi gras beads, one strand per coaster, 8 for $1
- Fabric glue, on hand
Total: $1 and up (or FREE if you already have a stash of beads)

Those coasters would be pretty for other parties too…Sprayed pink, blue or yellow for a baby shower etc.
This is genius! And its so cute! did the glasses slip all over? or was it ok?
