If you describe your design style as simple & elegant meets bold & funky, this one's for you. Shannon from Madigan Made made a non-traditional fall centerpiece by giving a grouping of candles a studded, faux bois (French for "fake wood") makeover. The contrast of wood against metal is stunning, making the simple design far more than the sum of its parts. I love the soft-meets-hard aesthetic! [how to make studded faux bois candles]
Project estimate:
- Candles, on hand or $1
- Candle holders, on hand or $1
- Contact paper, $1 and up
- Studded headbands, $1 and up
- Hot glue, on hand
Total: $2 and up

If you can’t find cheap contact paper, you can also find faux bois wrapping paper in Target’s dollar spot. Then you can just spray adhere or mod podge it on. :)
I believe that the Dollar Tree has a wood print contact paper in stock right now. They also have a black and white toils/jacquard print too – and tons of those studded headbands. silver or gold pushpins would work too.
