Make a Matchbox Advent Calendar (via dollarstorecrafts.com)

Even though this time of year I always hear people complain that it is too early for Christmas stuff, as a crafter it is hard to agree.  As anyone who loves a handmade Christmas will tell you, if you haven't at least started the planning stages of your holiday crafting by early November, you are procrastinating!  So to kick off this year's Christmas crafting season, check out this matchbox advent calendar by Ally at Everyday Miracles.  I love the look created by covering the boxes with kraft paper, though you could use any paper you like to make the project match the rest of your holiday decor.  [how to make a matchbox advent calendar]

Project estimate:

  • Matchboxes, about $5
  • Paper, on hand or $1 and up
  • Number stickers, on hand or $1 and up
  • Embellishments, on hand or $1 and up
  • Glue, on hand
  • Candy or other small gifts, on hand or $1 and up

Total:  about $5 and up
