In preparation for Earth Day, Cris from Crissy’s Crafts has been on a recycled crafting roll! (Remember her recycled water bottle flowers we showed you a few days ago?) Well, she’s come up with another recycled plastic bottle idea I love, this time using a two-liter soda bottle. The idea is especially good for those dealing with limited space and can’t plant a full bed of flowers. For visual interest you can also lining the empty bottles with a layer of river rocks or other decorative aggregate, which will have the added bonus of providing drainage. If you don’t add rocks, I would suggest punching a few small holes in the bottom side of each planter to let out excess water. [how to make a recycled soda bottle planter]
