Earth Day is next week, which is just one of many good reasons to try out some recycled crafting! Using odds and ends that would otherwise end up in a landfill is rewarding both because it helps to save the planet and because it takes a special type of ingenuity to make something beautiful out of trash. Cris from Crissy’s Crafts, for example, came up with this super-springy project that cost hardly anything to make because she reused most of the materials. Would you ever guess that these fun flowers started life as humble water bottles? [how to make recycled water bottle flowers]
Project estimate:
- Water bottle, on hand
- Bottle cap, on hand
- Tin can, on hand
- Fabric scraps, on hand
- Ribbon, on hand
- Floral foam, $1
- Dowel or skewer, on hand or $1
- Easter grass, on hand or $1
- Mod Podge, on hand
- Hot glue, on hand
Total: $1 and up

the fabric applied to the inside of the bottle looks great, like a resin almost.

Hi there :) I was just looking over the crafts on your site, so many awesome ideas. I love this one, along with the recycled bottle craft.
I have a Kids Craft linky party each Thursday and I’d love to have you post this or any of your crafts that are either done by children, or for kids to use.
